For a month, Villa Gawrońskich will host one of the most beautiful exhibitions of the season – Polish Modernism: A Struggle for Beauty. To make your visit even more enjoyable, I’ve put together a list of restaurants and cafés you can visit before or after the exhibition, along with a little information about the exhibition itself.

Polish Modernism: A Struggle for Beauty is the art exhibition that made quite a splash at Milan Design Week. When the exhibition in Italy ended, almost all of the works were brought to Warsaw in practically their original form and arranged throughout the rooms of Villa Gawrońskich.

The two floors of the historic mansion feature works by Teresa Kruszewska, Maria Jarema, Władysław Strzemiński, Katarzyna Kobro, Jerzy Nowosielski, Bohdan Lachert, Roman Modzelewski, as well as contemporary artists and designers. The result, as is always the case with Visteria Foundation, is incredibly impressive.

Furniture, design, art, architecture – the focus is not only on individual objects, but also on the ideas behind Polish modernism: the relationship between functionality and beauty, experiments with materials, the limitations of local production, and the role of design in everyday life.
