The Best Chef and Fundaziun Uccelin Launch Scholarships for Young Talent
Applications are now open for two fully funded 20-week scholarships – one for a chef and one for a front-of-house professional – created jointly by The Best Chef and Fundaziun Uccelin.
The initiative marks the tenth anniversaries of both organisations. Instead of celebrating with a traditional event, they have launched the Uccelin Scholarships, designed to support the next generation of hospitality professionals.
Open to applicants aged 35 and under, the programme offers one place for a cook and one for a service professional. Participants will spend 20 weeks training across several stages, beginning and ending at Andreas Caminada's three-Michelin-starred Schloss Schauenstein in Switzerland. The programme also includes placements at three partner restaurants and visits to four producers.
Accommodation, meals, local transport, visas, a stipend and a contribution towards health insurance are covered by the foundation. Participants are responsible for international travel between placements, insurance arrangements and documenting their journey throughout the programme.
Applications are open from 15 July until 16 August 2026 through the Fundaziun Uccelin website. The two recipients will be announced during The Best Chef Awards Gala Night
