Niby opens on Al. Solidarności 64
An author-driven approach to breakfast and brunch, designer furniture and a deliberately unruly atmosphere
Niby opens on Al. Solidarności 64
Niby, a project by Belarusian new-wave chef Vadim Astori, who previously headed the kitchen at Reneé in Nice, has opened at Al. Solidarności 64.
Inside, the atmosphere is elegant but deliberately scruffy: carefully considered interiors with rough plaster and a painted concrete floor, designer furniture, an Ikea x Teenage Engineering collaboration speaker and an excellent soundtrack coming from it.

The menu focuses on breakfast and brunch, with dishes including pan con tomate with omelette and jamón ibérico, croque pancakes with guanciale, avocado toast with labneh and tomatoes or Turkish eggs with nduja oil.
One of the highlights is the Spanish tortilla – soft and creamy, served with beef tartare and smoked aioli, with some great contrasts in texture and temperature. Among the desserts, there is an intensely addictive olive oil cake with citrus, Chantilly cream and Maldon salt, as well as Basque cheesecake.

The owner, Vadim Astori, also clarified that the current format is temporary while the restaurant is waiting for its alcohol licence. The long-term plan is to host wine dinners, with the full format expected to launch in September.
