Hotel Warszawa Art Fair Returns for Its Fifth Edition

Contemporary art takes over two floors of Hotel Warszawa this weekend

If contemporary art exhibitions in hotel rooms sound like a good way to spend the weekend, Hotel Warszawa Art Fair returns to Warsaw this Saturday and Sunday, 5–6 September.

The fifth edition takes over the first and second floors of Hotel Warszawa, with individual hotel rooms turned into exhibition spaces. The fair was created as Poland’s first contemporary art fair to be held inside a hotel and brings together Polish galleries alongside international projects.

This year’s edition features around 30 galleries, with international participants from cities including The Hague, Berlin, Miami and Tartu. The programme spans different generations of artists and a range of media, with names including Wojciech Fangor, Joanna Rajkowska, Rafał Milach, Weronika Gęsicka, Tadeusz Rolke and Pola Dwurnik among the artists represented.

The hotel-room format is central to the fair. Instead of a conventional gallery setting, works are presented within the interiors of Hotel Warszawa, bringing contemporary art into direct contact with the building’s architecture and rooms.

The programme also includes guided tours. On Saturday, Anka Sańczuk will lead a tour at 13:00, followed by Jarosław Trybuś at 15:00 and Karolina Plinta at 17:00. On Sunday, Alek Hudzik of MINT Magazine will lead a tour at 12:00. The tours are in Polish and require separate registration due to limited places.

The fair takes place on 5 and 6 September from 12:00 to 19:00. Tickets cost 25 zł.

Where to Eat After the Fair

Hotel Warszawa has two restaurants to continue the evening after the exhibition: Warszawska, for a more contemporary take on Polish cuisine, and Szóstka on the sixth floor, for dinner with a view over the city.
