Bruno Verjus Announces the Closure of Table: “Fine Dining Is Dead”

Bruno Verjus announced the closure of Table after 14 years. In an interview conducted by food writer André Michel and published by Prescription, Verjus explained his decision, saying that he no longer feels comfortable with the idea of excluding people from his table.

“Fine dining is dead. I don’t feel comfortable anymore excluding people from my table.

The idea of fine dining is to bring people to discover amazing food with amazing service. And time after time I felt like I was doing things that belonged to the past.

We need to move on in a different way. I want to nourish people but not just a little few people. I want to nourish people as much as I can with my knowledge, with the amazing ingredients that we can get, with the amazing skills of all my team, but in a totally different way.”‍

Table opened in Paris in 2013 and received its second Michelin star in 2022. Today, the restaurant ranks No. 8 on The World’s 50 Best Restaurants list, while Bruno Verjus holds Three Knives – the highest distinction in The Best Chef Awards. Its final service is scheduled for 22 December 2026.
