The Poznań café dedicated to Portugal’s iconic custard tarts has opened its first Warsaw location today.

At the centre of the concept are pastéis de nata, baked fresh on site and served in several versions – the classic one costs 9 PLN, the chocolate version 10 PLN, and the pistachio one, packed with pistachio cream, 11 PLN.

There is also freshly brewed coffee, including full-bodied beans with a Portuguese-style roast, along with a small selection of Portuguese products and things to take home, including olive oil, sardines and tableware.
The Warsaw location took quite a while to come together, and judging by the first day, it seems to have already built up a following even before opening – there has been a steady stream of customers since the very first hours.

Pastelowe, one of Warsaw’s best-known spots for pastéis de nata, now has some new competition.
